This buyer purchased an item from us and was extremely rude from the very beginning. She asked us to have USPS look into the package. Due to severe weather and snow at the time, we politely asked her to be patient and assured her that the package was still moving through the USPS network and would arrive.

The item reached her hometown but was then routed back to our state. She opened an “Item Not Received” case, to which we again responded by asking her to remain patient, as tracking showed the item was scheduled to be delivered that Friday. She replied by claiming we were a horrible seller who does not stand behind our products and demanded a refund. The USPS delays caused by weather and logistics were completely outside of our control.

She then claimed the package was “lost,” despite tracking clearly showing continued movement. If a package were truly lost, there would be no tracking updates. She also stated there was no expected delivery date, which was untrue. As expected, the package was delivered that Friday.

After delivery, she opened an “Item Not as Described” case, claiming the item would not charge. The item was fully functional when shipped and works as intended. If she no longer wanted the item, she could have returned it unopened. Instead, it appears the claim was made to avoid paying return shipping. It is possible she purchased a replacement from another seller before our item arrived.

She also stated that she should have trusted her instincts based on our feedback. Our feedback rating is excellent. Her comment appears to reference a small number of recent negative feedbacks, which we believe are also false. Overall, our feedback clearly reflects that we are an outstanding and reliable seller. Her statement seems intended to make her claim appear more credible rather than reflect the truth.

We are now going to make an example out of her in Small Claims soon.

2025-12-16Kodak Carousel 140 Slide Tray Chargeur334608126228$4.99 + Shipping ($7.95)

This person purchased a “Kodak Carousel 140 Slide Tray Carguer”. When we went to purchase a label we got an error that prevented us from ordering the label threw eBay. We tried again and had the same issue. Because, we had to ship the item the same day or risk getting a late shipping ding. We messaged the buyer to let them know about the issue. We received no reply. So we proceeded to cancel the order with an issue with the buyers address. This is the only option we can select that best describes the issue. As the buyer didn’t ask to cancel the order so we couldn’t select that one.

Fast forward a few days later the buyer leaves a negative feedback claiming the following:

“I purchased a Kodak slide carousel priced $4.99 plus $7.95 shipping. The next day the seller messaged me: “Hello, having issues with printing the label for your address.” Seven minutes later eBay notified me the order was canceled by the seller, who claimed “Something was wrong with the buyer’s shipping address.” I’ve had the same address since 1987. I joined eBay in 1997, and no seller has ever had an issue with my address. I can only assume the seller simply wanted out of the transaction.”

Living at the same address and having been on eBay since “1997” does not negate the fact that there was an issue on eBay’s end that prevented us from purchasing the label. Regardless, we weren’t able to purchase a label. The ending of the feedback that states “I can only assume the seller simply wanted out of the transaction” is simply untrue. Had we wanted out of the transaction we would have cancelled the item the moment they purchased it.

We generally don’t list buyers who leave negative feedback’s as that’s their prerogative. This particular person just won’t respond to any of our messages to resolve this issue for them. We sent a revision request to which they denied. We sent 3 other followup messages and all have gone unanswered. So that is why they are listed here as an abusive buyer.

Mr. Montgomery accepted an offer we sent. About 10 minutes later, he canceled the order, claiming he didn’t realize it wouldn’t come with the wall mount—even though this was explicitly stated in the listing.

We declined his cancellation request, as per eBay’s terms it is up to the seller to accept or deny cancellations. He then proceeded to send multiple messages demanding that we cancel the order, threatening to dispute the charge if we didn’t. Eventually, he did file a dispute.

We were advised by eBay to accept the dispute and cancel the transaction, as they would investigate the buyer for attempting to go around eBay’s process. We accepted the dispute, even though we were fully prepared to fight it—despite the fact that the item had not yet been shipped.

2025-08-07Xerox Phaser 8560 Printer 084K35870 Electronics Module w/ RAM & Config Card334903383659$100 + Shipping ($11.51)

Mr. Jeffrey initially sent us an offer for $85, to which we countered at $100—essentially giving them free shipping. They countered at $90, but we declined, holding firm at our original counteroffer of $100. They then came back at $95, which we again declined. Next, they offered $98, and, as you can guess, we declined that as well. Finally, they sent us a message saying, “Really?” and then submitted their last offer for $100, exactly as we wanted. They followed up with another message: “I submitted the offer for 100 like you wanted. You win.”

In hindsight, our instincts told us not to sell to this buyer and to block them—but we didn’t. We accepted the $100 offer and shipped the order.

Fast forward to August 11th, 2025: they received the item and sent us a message claiming it did not “work.” They stated that they plugged it in before installing it into the printer, and that there should be an LED light that comes on, but ours “did not.”

These parts were pulled from a fully working printer and were clearly described as such in the listing. They requested a replacement, which we denied, explaining that we do not accept returns and that the issue was most likely due to user error.

The buyer claimed to “fix” these printers and said they had a “Xerox service manual.” Based on their behavior, we believe this is a dishonest buyer and regret selling to them at all—especially after their initial “Really?” message, which they later justified by saying it was because we wouldn’t accept an offer just $2 less. We don’t care if it was a single cent less; we had given a fair counteroffer, and they chose to play games with slightly lower offers instead.

Lastly, we know for a fact these work as they were pulled from a working printer. This comes down to end user error. He has absolutely no idea how these work or how to properly install them.

If and when we receive the item back, we will be pursuing a claim in Small Claims Court in their hometown in Maryland. The item was returned to us in damaged condition, either by the buyer or during transit with USPS. We filed a claim with USPS for the remaining portion of the loss, and USPS issued payment. As a result, our total losses have been fully reimbursed through payments from both USPS and eBay. Therefore, pursuing the matter in Small Claims Court is no longer necessary.

This person purchased this item and immediately cancelled the order. When we reached out to them to ask them why they cancelled the order directly after buying it and that cancellations are at the discretion of the seller. They immediately replied with a snarky comment and that if we do not cancel the order they will open a charge back. To which we denied the cancellation and proceeded to ship the item the next day as per our handling time. About 20 minutes later they opened a charge back which claimed “they didn’t receive their order” which obviously they wouldn’t if they just purchased the item 8 hours earlier.

This buyer is abusive and does not follow eBay’s own terms. We ended up refunding the amount to save the hassle of a return. We were well within our right to ship the item and dispute the amount to which we would of won.

This person purchased a letter “A” on Wednesday, February 19th 2025. This person received it on Tuesday, February 25th 2025. They opened a return for “Doesn’t match description or photos”. They failed to comprehend and read the description in full. Clearly they had to of read the description because they pointed out part of the end of the message that said “what you see in the photo’s is what’s included unless otherwise stated”. Which is stated prior to that message. The listing clearly states “Because this is a multi quantity listing, quality will vary in condition. You will receive the best condition available.” to which this buyer did not acknowledge. Furthermore in the description it clearly states “Before purchasing or sending offers, read the description in full, read the title in full and review all photo’s. You can also reach out to us with any questions or concerns about this listing.“.

Furthermore the message is seen in her attempt at the screenshot in the return message. What she received is what she purchased and had the best available letter left in the quantity. What she more than likely did was purchased the wrong letter size because of course shes incompetent in reading the description that also has the measurements and found any possible way she could attempt to return this item without paying the shipping. Which of course would cost more than the item is worth. This is another buyer that is abusing the returns. Had she reached out to us prior to opening a return she would of been taken care of.

She was reported to eBay for abuse of returns and should she return the item. We will escalate this further outside of eBay to recoup our losses.

2024-12-31Panasonic KX-TG7741 Answering Machine for KX-TGA470 S Cordless Phone Handsets334763416951$9.00 + Shipping ($7.78)

This buyer purchased a Panasonic phone base on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 and received it on Friday, January 10th 2025. They just finally reached out to us on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 and claimed that they were on “vacation” and are just now getting around to using the item. I don’t know anyone who buys something while on vacation only to later use it but we digress. They reached out to us with ideas on how to get their phone to pair with their base. Mind you they said they are “tech savvy”. However failed to comprehend how to properly de-register their previous phone to the old base and register to the new base. They insisted that this was an issue with our base prior to even getting help.

We provided them adequate information along with the steps as well a Youtube video. They still failed to comprehend the steps. When asked if they put the correct code in to de-register. Their response was backwards while they skipped a whole step. We went back and forth with this person for almost 4 hours. Their responses were nothing but coarse and snarky. We were very professional in our responses as well helpful. Unsure how we could of been anymore helpful then were already were short of flying out to this persons home and setting up their phone for them.

Finally, we had to let them know that it was an end user error and that they should reach out to Panasonic customer support. We provided them the number because we know how hard it is to research these things. They responded with another coarse reply and threatened to leave negative feedback to which they did.

Here are the messages that were exchanged between us.

Hi, I’ve been on vacation and just got back and just started trying to set up the phone base and I can’t register my handsets to it. I didn’t know if you had any suggestions.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 5:03 AM — Stephen Moore

Attach a photo of the phone you’re trying to pair including its front, back and model.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 1:04 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

I’m sure the phones are the right ones. The base is the same model as the one I’m replacing. And Iooked it up on the Panasonic site and they are the handsets for the base. The old base can register and deregister all the handsets, it’s problem is it will not connect to the phone line. The base I got from you connects to the phone line. When I press speaker phone I get a dial tone but when I try and register any of the handsets they don’t register, they just time out. Didn’t know if you had any insite as to what I’m doing wrong. I’m pretty teck savvy so I’m starting to think the base registering function isn’t working.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 1:17 PM — Stephen Moore

Hello, There is nothing wrong with the registering function as we de register and register handsets all the time and test functionality. We are very well aware of these machines as we sell them all the time. You have a TGA-470S which is the wrong model for this answering machine. You should have purchased the KX-TG7731 model answering machine.

Lastly, if your previous handset wasn’t de-registered of the previous base you will have to do that first. You can try de-registering it by reviewing your manual for that handset or generally its Menu followed by clicking # then 131. Then going threw the menu selects to de-register it. Then from there you would register it like you would any handset up to 5.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 1:27 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

The new base and the old base are the exact same number. I don’t understand
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 1:32 PM — Stephen Moore

Your handset is then still registered to the old base. Why do you have both of them plugged in? You cant use the same phone in more than one base. Did you follow those directions to de-register the phone?
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 1:33 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

I was trying to send you a video of the registering but ebay only let’s you send 9MB photos But if the two base units are the same model and one can register the handsets and the other can’t I don’t think it’s that I have the wrong base now does it.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 1:48 PM — Stephen Moore

I don’t have both base units plugged in at the same time. And no I de-registered the phone on the old base unplug that base and then power up the new base and try to register it and it says registering but never does just times out.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 1:53 PM — Stephen Moore

I just de-registered a handset, #3 and it says it’s been de-registered then it says “Press Locator on base 5sec, put on charger” I do all of that and it just sits there until it times out
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 1:57 PM — Stephen Moore

You are doing something wrong then as these are tested and sold as such. You may have something wrong with your handset.

What was the purpose of purchasing this answering machine when you already have one?
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 2:03 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

The old base doesn’t connect to the phone line but it does connect to all the phones. I just wanted to replace the base. The message about putting the phone in the charger only comes if the phone is de-registered so that’s not the issue and if I take a phone that doesn’t register on the base I got from you and try on the old base it registers right away.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 2:31 PM — Stephen Moore

I’d love to find that I’m doing something wrong and get it to work but it doesn’t seem to be happening
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 2:33 PM — Stephen Moore

It’s not pairing because it’s still paired to something that’s hooked up. Do you have any individual bases around the house? How many phones do you have hooked up?This is not an issue with our base.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 2:33 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

Additionally, here is a helpful video on how to properly de-register and register. It’s essentially the same process.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcur_MdLpRg
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 2:38 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

I don’t understand how it isn’t an issue with your base. The handsets pair fine with the old base but do not with your base and they are the exact same model. I disconnected a Vtech phone just to see if that had anything to do with it and it didn’t make any difference. The old base was registering the handset when it was plugged in so yours should do the same.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 2:41 PM — Stephen Moore

You have to de-register the phone from the previous base. Of course its going to work with your old base because it’s already paired. I would suggest you watch that video on how to properly do it as you’re missing a step along the way.

We sell hundreds of these phones and bases. We are very familiar with how these work. VTech and AT&T as well. We have tutorials on our website how to de-register those as well.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 2:44 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

Yes, I have de-registered the handset. The handset says de-registered.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 2:52 PM — Stephen Moore

Did you go to Menu + # + 130 to setup the registration process? Then holding down locator on the base for 5 seconds and registering it? It’s all shown in that video I gave you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcur_MdLpRg
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 3:00 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

Yes I have done #131 to de-register and when you do the handset says “Press Locator on the base 5 sec, put on charger” I do that and it says “Registering” but it never does it just times out
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 3:15 PM — Stephen Moore

#131 is to de-register but you didn’t do #130 to get into the registration part. You aren’t following the correct order of pairing these handsets.

At this point I strongly believe this is end user error.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 3:17 PM — Thrift Gorilla, LLC.

If you are as experienced with this phone system as you say you should know that there is something wrong with the base. Here is a pic of the handset trying to register. After it times out it gives 5 quick beeps. If you are such an expert what do the 5 quick beeps mean?
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 3:23 PM — Stephen Moore

We provided you adequate information and help for about 4 hours now. Including providing links to videos. It’s evident at this point that it’s an end user error. Generally we don’t even give support for items.

We clean, de-register, test and list these items all day and are listed as such. We have not had any issue with the “base registering function” as you indicated earlier or we wouldn’t have listed this product.

Lastly, I am not here to argue with you and I would respectfully ask you do the same. We haven’t been rude to you at all during this whole process.

You may want to reach out to Panasonic for additional support over the phone at this point.

Well, I was hoping since you proclaim to be proficient with this phone system that you would be able to ascertain wihat is wrong, but you seem to just state it’s end user error so you leave me no choice but to give negative feedback.
Wednesday, January 23rd 2025 @ 3:37 PM — Stephen Moore

I am not sure how we can be anymore helpful than we already have short of driving to your home and setting up your phone system for you. We are just trying to make an honest living.

How to Fix a Dinkie Dino TK-910 Virtual Pet Toy

Recently I came across a Dinkie Dino virtual pet toy while I was at the Goodwill Outlet stores. Upon receiving this item the right side button wasn’t working like it should. After I took it apart a few times and cleaned all the contacts. The buttons still failed to work. Even after trying the tin foil trick by cutting a small circle in tin foil that would sit over the contacts and would touch the pads upon contact. This still did not work.

What I’ve noticed is that during manufacturing there was a small solder ball that was soldered to the board. This appears to be a manufacturing error. If you have this same toy and are experiencing contacts not making contact upon pushing. Check the contacts on both sides.

This is a photo of what the solder ball looked like and how it was obstructing the contacts.

This is what it should look like after you suck up the solder with either a solder pad or solder sucker.

Here is a video that shows the solder ball and what the other side should look like.

Brand new platform and design upgrade

Well I wasn’t expecting to redesign the whole website from the ground up once again starting off 2025. My intent was not to use WordPress again but instead of managing two different code bases. I’ve decided to just merge the two into one platform so it’s easily managed. I also have extensive knowledge in WordPress.

The last design update was run on Hugo and the eCommerce site was run on Presta Shop. Both of which are very good and still use them on other projects. This person purchased a Blu-Ray player and claimed when they got it that it did not work. They sent us a whole paragraph of what they did and that they have an “original” power adapter and remote for this same player. The only reason they purchased ours is because their “front door” was broken.

Our item was tested with OEM power adapter which appears they did not. We listed the item as such and did work prior to listing and sending them the item. They still insist its the “power issue” despite them not having “technical knowledge”. They further told us that they put the power adapter cord in “tighter” to make a solid connection. Again this sounds very fishy and were leaning towards a swap out. We at that point gave them an amicable solution and reminded them that we use OEM adapters and that the item worked prior to sending. Additionally, we told them to open a claim with USPS for damage if the unit is still faulty. At which we were told “I’m not going back and forth on this.”.

They never used the term OEM before in any of the correspondences. But they did use it in the return message. Their photo’s they attached show the power adapter hole pin missing. It’s hard to tell right now since we do not have the item. However it appears their carelessness in using this item they broke the unit or are swapping their internal unit with ours.

This person initially messages us on their main account under “het1959” and asked us the following:

“Does it amplify the received sound? Make and receive phone calls? Your description was kind of vague?”

To which we directed them to the listing where it’s all described. We proceeded to block this person on the grounds that if they cannot read a description we don’t want to do business with them.

Fast forward a few days later. They registered a new account under “cunni-29233” and ordered our item under the “Cunningham Telephone” name. Once they received it they opened a return stating the item was “defective” with the message “When you push a button on the phone, it doesn t break dial tone. It must have a bad keypad.”. This of course is not true. They also never once opened any communication with us and went straight to a return.

Upon recognizing the item and this person we recently blocked. We went to our block list with the notes. Indeed this was a previously blocked user.

We immediately contacted eBay and let them know about this abusive buyer. They are going to deal with both accounts accordingly once we receive the item.

2024-10-16Blink BSM00203U XT2 1080P Camera SYNC Module – Black *SYNC Only*335621239474$19.99 + Shipping ($4.31)

Buyer purchased Blink BSM00203U XT2 1080P Camera SYNC Module – Black *SYNC Only* which was described as the items basic functionality was tested and appeared to work but we explicitly stated that we cannot guarantee the item will work 100%. The description also stated to ask questions prior to purchase which this person failed to do.

They opened a return and stated “I messaged seller immediately to let them know it was locked to a blink account and was no good and they still haven’t tryd to fix it after referring me to there description were it states they tested it and it worked properly there’s no possible way with it locked to a blink account already you can run the numbers in pic to see it’s locked to blink account”. We never claimed the item “worked perfectly”. This buyer is a complete dishonest buyer. Their negative feedback they left also stated “add clearly stated it had been tested and was fully functional” which again is another lie.

We let them know they failed to read the description prior to purchasing. You can clearly see from the photo’s the description. Had this buyer ran the serial numbers like he says then he would of seen the item was “locked”.

2024-10-20WriteMaster Samsung SH-S182 DVD-RW IDE Internal Optical Disc Drive – Black334922386077$18.00 + Shipping ($9.02)

This person purchased WriteMaster Samsung SH-S182 DVD-RW IDE Internal Optical Disc Drive – Black which worked as described. Buyer claimed that this drive would only read CD’s but not data disks. Which is clearly untrue as if it can read one it has to read the other. This is a clear indication that the buyer is uneducated in what they purchased. When we reached out to them to try and resolve the issue. We were told the general line of “we have one of these” but yours doesn’t work excuse.

Buyer claimed they have a “Akai MPC 4000 Drum Machine” which appears to be an end user and product error. When we tried to reach out and trouble shoot possible issues. We were told “I will not argue with you. I will let Ebay handle it”. Buyer was abusive, uncooperative and dishonest.

Buyer had a remorse purchase, purchased something blind they have no idea how to use or all of the above.

Lastly, the buyer ended the return message with “The Seller deducted 18.00 dollars from the total refund. If this is legal do not worry about it but the device was defective and he charge me 9.00 dollars for shipping and deucted 9.00 dollars from the total cost.”

We did NOT deduct $18 from the total refund. We in fact deducted 50% which is the maximum we are allowed as sellers. That amounted to $9. Again, this buyer is dishonest. Item was NOT defective nor did we charge them 9, twice. In fact we have to pay for the return label costs as well final value fees.

2024-08-28Lot of 3 Battery’s for 8MM RCA Sanyo Sharp Sony Camcorder – Energizer/Duracell335246538862$4.99 + Shipping ($7.43)

This person purchased this lot of 3 camera batteries for vintage camcorders. None of these batteries were tested nor were they charged. The listing described this as such and was listed with sold as is. This buyer clearly knew what they were purchasing and fully understood the condition of the item.

Buyer had the item for nearly a month before they messaged us on September 17th 2024 explaining that 2 of the batteries seem “OK” but the 3rd one wasn’t up to par with them. They further ended the message with “I don’t mind keeping them all if you might be ok with doing a small partial refund, say $2 ? Or if you like I can go ahead and send them all 3 back for a full refund and you can then do whatever with them.”

We explained to them that they knew exactly what they purchased which was described in the listing and that we don’t do partial refunds. They proceeded to say that they would open a case and send them back to us.

About a week later on September 25th 2024 they opened a return case. At which we responded to them by again messaging them and telling them we are not able to accept a return under the conditions of the description. There were no errors on our part and they purchased an item fully knowing what it was and the condition.

After contacting eBay and letting them know about this abusive buyer. We were told that they would escalate the issue in our favor if and when the item is sent. The buyer never did send the item. They closed the return a day before it was to auto close. Which is when they gave us negative feedback which said the following:

One of 3 used (means working) batteries was a dud, Seller was MOST UN-caring and UN-helpful, I was going to send all 3 back though seller ARGUED they would NOT accept a return (listing DID SAY – Returns Accepted) nor do even a partial refund for the bad one, (I suggested a measly $2 back). But I kept them bc at least 2 out of the 3 seem to be OK, and the total sale price was still cheap enough. Would have cost more to send them back than what they’re worth. Though Ebay would have send me a label too
